Family Farm Bridal Portraits: Casey

I’ve been dying to post these images from Casey’s bridal portrait that I took back in August. Finally the wedding has come and I can share them with you!!!

Casey’s in-laws live on a beautiful farm up in the Virginia mountains. This made for a perfect bridal portrait setting. Talk about land with lots of options! I had great things to photograph: hay bales, vintage chairs, old bridges, weeping willows, oh yeah and a gorgeous bride, hehe. Not only was this location personal because it’s in the family, but it’s also where Josh asked Casey to be his wife. I had Casey’s mom, Kelli, and mother-in-law to be, Kathy, by my side during the shoot. They were great at helping Casey look her best and shuttling us around the acres of land. There were a few times while shooting I’d hear sniffles behind me. I turned around and saw the two mothers holding hands and tearing up at the sight of the beautiful bride.

Tilly is such a sweet heart. I’m sure her dad just melts when he holds her. I had a great time with her mom and dad doing her newborn session. She was wide awake when I first started and then drifted off just in time to go outside and play around with some props. She slept so well as I moved her here and there. Below are just a couple of my favorites from our time together!

I met up with this adorable newborn a couple weeks ago for his first portrait session. He was such a trooper for the whole session… especially when he was napping. Unknown to him, I was carrying him around the yard, placing him here and there and putting him in bowls and on top of suitcases. I’m looking forward to photographing this little guy some more. For now, please enjoy the sneak peak.

Yesterday’s Shoot Event was a huge success! Thanks again to all of those who came out for a session, donated money or volunteered their time on Sunday. With help from Project Go, we were able to raise over $1,200 for our local family.

Roxana and Alejandro, Washington, D.C Lifestyle Photographer

Roxana and Alejandro are two of the dearest people I know. Alejandro was on Ryan’s learning team while at Darden. Ryan spent so much time with his learning team, they became family. It made me so happy when they all would come over to the house and I would cook dinner while they studied.

So while in the DC area, Ryan and I took advantage of being close by to Roxana and Alejandro and did a portrait session for them in their new city. They aren’t staying in DC long though. They are moving to Dubai soon. Who knows… maybe I’ll be headed to Dubai for another portrait session in their newer city!
